FAQs

Thank you for your interest in my quilting! I put together this page to help answer some of the most frequent questions I get about my quilting services, as well as to explain the process. If you have any questions that aren’t answered here, please feel free to email me at thequiltingchamp@gmail.com.

  • What kind of machine do you have? I have an Innova 22″ with Lightning Stitch, and a 12′ frame.
  • What kind of thread do you use? I usually use Isacord or Superior Threads So Fine.
  •  Do you offer binding services? At this time, no, I don’t.
  • Can I buy batting from you? Absolutely! I offer Quilter’s Dream Cotton Select in White and Quilter’s Dream Blend.
  • Can I send you batting myself? Certainly. Please make sure that it is at least 4″ bigger on all sides than the quilt top, like your backing.
  • Do you have a rate for piecing backing? No, I don’t piece backing at this time.
  • Can I use a pieced backing that has quilt blocks in it? Maybe. If it is pieced like a second quilt top to be a reversible quilt, no. All the seams in the top and the back are very bulky for my machine to work through, which affects the quality of the quilting. If you have just a row of quilt blocks in the backing, that’s fine. Please make sure that whatever backing you send me is squared!
  • What’s your turn-around time? On average, about 3 – 4 weeks.
  • What if I don’t know what quilting design I want? That’s okay! When you e-mail me it’s always helpful to include a picture of your quilt top, and we’ll discuss quilting designs. I’m always happy to give recommendations or suggest ideas- we’ll figure it out!
  • How can I get in touch with you? You can shoot me an e-mail at thequiltingchamp [at] gmail [dot] com. If you’re interested in booking a quilt, please fill out my Inquiry Form. It will help me be precise when we talk about quilting designs.
